BJP’s Rajasthan unit plans to raise ‘atrocities on women’, ‘unrest among farmers’ and ‘hopeless youth’ following exam paper leak in recruitment examinations to prepare itself for the yearend assembly elections against the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government. The campaign has been given the theme ‘Nahi Sahega Rajasthan’ (Rajasthan will not tolerate). As part of the programme, the BJP unit organised a protest of women leaders and party workers on Wednesday. BJP Mahila Morcha president Alka Mundra, party MPs Diya Kumar Singh and Ranjeeta Koli led the protest from BJP office to the chief minister’s house. The leaders highlighted incidents of ‘atrocities on women’ and alleged the state has become number one in crime against women. On July 12, BJP will organise a gathering of farmers in Jhunjhunu where senior state leaders will address the gathering. “Congress government had promised a loan waiver. They have not fulfilled the promise and now are capturing the land of farmers,” BJP general secretary incharge of Rajasthan, Arun Singh alleged, while speaking to ET. On July 18, the party will organise a youth protest in Ajmer, where issues related to paper leaks, unemployment allowance and recruitments will be highlighted. Ajmer has been chosen as the protest venue as the Rajasthan Public Service Commission head office is in Ajmer. “We will try to register FIRs and release white paper on paper leaks while carrying out Aakrosh Yatra,” Singh told ET. The party has planned to hold a large public meeting in Jaipur on August 1, where apart from senior state leaders, some national leaders too will address the rally.
