Mamata Banerjee, who is in Mumbai, has special plans for Raksha Bandhan this year.
Banerjee, who arrived at the Mumbai airport for the forthcoming two-day gathering of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) scheduled on Thursday (August 31) and Friday (September 1), made her way to Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan's residence on Wednesday.
For the festivities, the West Bengal CM plans to tie rakhi to the Big B. She could be seen entering Bachchan's home 'Jalsa' in suburban Juhu in an SUV amid heavy security.
It was reported that Bachchan had extended an invitation for tea at his place during Banerjee's Mumbai visit.
The duo's connection goes way back.
Last year, the actor had graced the inaugural ceremony of the Kolkata International Film Festival along with other stars. It was during this event that Banerjee voiced her demand for conferring Bachchan with the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, as a tribute to his substantial contributions to Indian cinema.
Meanwhile, on the eve of the two-day INDIA bloc meeting, Banerjee received a warm welcome at the city's airport by Aaditya Thackeray, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, along with members of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which encompasses Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and his father, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, reached Mumbai the previous evening.
