'Read this e-mail immediately': 180 CDC employees called back to work after being axed by Trump admin
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were called back to work Tuesday — just two weeks after a round of layoffs ordered by the Trump administration, according to a report. The nation's top public health agency says about 180 employees who were laid off two weeks ago can come back to work.
Emails were sent to employees on Tuesday to some Centers for Disease Control and Prevention probationary employees who got termination notices last month, according to current and former CDC employees.
180 CDC employees called back to work. Here are ten things:
-The probationary CDC workers were notified of their change in employment status in an email that informed them they should return to work on Wednesday, according to the missive viewed by the Associated Press.
-A message was sent with the subject line, “Read this e-mail immediately.” It said that “after further review and consideration,” a Feb. 15 termination notice has been rescinded and the employee was cleared to return to work on Wednesday.
