Religare Enterprises (REL) Chairperson Rashmi Saluja Wednesday approached the Delhi High Court to nullify a proposed resolution for her reappointment at the company's next annual general meeting (AGM) on February 7, claiming that her directorship until 2028 was already approved two years ago.

The Delhi High Court heard the matter on Wednesday but did not grant her any relief. The case is now listed for February 4.
Although the suit was filed against the company, no representative appeared on its behalf. However, senior counsel Nalin Kohli, representing REL's four independent directors, argued that he had not been served a copy of the suit. Kohli further claimed the suit was «almost collusive», and highlighted ongoing probes concerning Saluja.
Senior Counsel Mukul Rohatgi, representing Saluja, said her suit was distinct from the ongoing battle for corporate control. He argued that the dispute centres around her contractual retirement terms.
He urged the court to grant an injunction that would prevent the REL shareholders from passing any resolution to remove her on February 7 or convene a meeting for that purpose.
