Ductile iron, an advanced version of cast iron, is engineered by treating molten iron with pure magnesium, enhancing its strength, flexibility, and durability. These attributes make DI Pipes indispensable for projects that require stability and security, such as water supply, sewerage systems, and industrial applications.
The DI pipes produced at the Chaliyama Steel Plant have unmatched quality and durability, incorporating features that set them apart in the market. An internal cement mortar lining ensures a smooth flow of water while preventing pitting, erosion, and corrosion, thereby reducing the risk of blockages and discoloured water.
The external zinc coating protects the pipes from damage during transportation and handling, while additional coatings like bitumen and epoxy enhance their longevity.
