According to Mirron UK, a statement from Sean 'Diddy' Combs’ legal team emphasized that while anyone can file a lawsuit, it does not necessarily mean they have credible evidence. The statement also noted that Bryana Bongolan had been planning to sue Combs since last year and had sought legal representation to advance her claims. Combs has strongly denied the allegations and expressed confidence that they will “ultimately be proven baseless.” Combs' legal team stated their confidence in the judicial process, asserting that the facts would ultimately reveal the “claims against Mr Combs are without merit.”

Bryana Bongolan filed her lawsuit against Sean 'Diddy' Combs in Los Angeles Superior Court on November 27, 2024. In her filing, Bongolan alleged that she was not involved in the «freak off» event prior to the reported incident. In her lawsuit, the fashion designer alleged that Sean 'Diddy' Combs intended to either “kill” her or “intentionally terrorize” her by dangling her over a balcony, stripping her of any sense of safety and control over her own body. Bongolan also claimed that she and her girlfriend were staying in a bedroom at Cassie Ventura’s apartment, and were «violently» awoken by Combs banging on the door. According to Bongolan, the rapper was intoxicated following a night of partying.
