‘Pachinko Season 2’ will be available for streaming on Apple+ TV on August 23. The story will pick up from where the first season left off and will continue to revolve around the trials and tribulations of Kim Sunja, a Korean immigrant to Japan, and her family.
The inaugural episode of the eight-episode season will debut on Friday, August 23, with new episodes airing weekly until October 11. The second season of Pachinko boasts a star-studded cast, including Lee Min-ho, Minha Kim, Anna Sawai, Yuh-Jung Youn, Jin Ha, Eunchae Jung, Soji Arai, Junwoo Han, and Sungkyu Kim.
The inaugural season garnered multiple honors, including a Peabody Award, an American Film Institute Award, a Critics Choice Award, and a Gotham Independent Film Award. Soo Hugh, the creator and writer of Pachinko, also serves as an executive producer alongside Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer from Media Res, and Theresa Kang from Blue Marble Pictures. The second season is directed by Leanne Welham, Arvin Chen, and Sang-il Lee.
The second season will also feature a cover of the popular Coldplay single ‘Viva La Vida’ by Blackpink member Rose.
