Selena Gomez, star of Only Murders in the Building, has officially joined the billionaire ranks, according to Bloomberg. At 32 years old, she now boasts a net worth of $1.3 billion, making her one of the youngest female self-made billionaires in the U.S. Gomez’s wealth was recorded for the first time by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Her billionaire status comes just months after her friend Taylor Swift hit the milestone in April 2024. Swift, 34, was ranked No. 2,545 on Forbes' World's Billionaires List with a net worth of $1.1 billion. Notably, Swift became the first musician to achieve billionaire status solely from songwriting and performing.
Gomez’s fortune, however, is more diversified. Bloomberg’s wealth analysis factored in the value of Gomez’s stake in Rare Beauty, her music earnings, real estate holdings, and revenue from streaming deals and brand endorsements.
While she rose to fame as a child star on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, she has since expanded her empire beyond acting. Gomez is the founder of Rare Beauty, a makeup line launched five years ago that has become a sensation among influencers and teens. As per the report, over 80 percent of Selena's wealth derives from her stake in her beauty brand.
Though music has played a role in Gomez’s career, it has contributed minimally to her fortune. Her tours account for less than 5% of her wealth, and album sales for less than 2%. In fact, she hasn’t toured since 2016. Instead, Gomez has built her wealth through a combination of brand
