The Senate is set to take up consideration of President Biden’s nominees to the Federal Reserve this week, beginning with a procedural vote Monday on the confirmation of governor Lael Brainard to serve as the central bank’s vice chairwoman.
Ms. Brainard is widely expected to win confirmation after she received votes from all 12 Democrats and four of 12 Republicans on the Senate Banking Committee last month. Four Fed nominees are up for confirmation, and it’s unknown if the two who would be new to the board would be seated ahead of next week’s rate-setting meeting.
