stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Gowra Leasing(19.99%), Meenakshi Enterprise(19.96%) and Vama Industries(17.22%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 1018.2 points down at 76293.6, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 309.8 points down at 23071.8.
In the Nifty50 index, 4 stocks closed in the green, while 46 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Vas Infra, Taparia Tools, RDB Real Estate Cons, Desh Rakshak and Yash Trading hit their fresh 52-week high, while Retro Green Revolution, BFL Asset Finvest, Super Tex Ind, NGL Fine Chem and Asit C Mehta touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
