HDFC Bank, M&M, and Infosys were offset by losses in Reliance Industries and Bharti Airtel.
The BSE Sensex was trading 14 points, or 0.02%, lower at 79,992. The Nifty50 was down 18 points, or 0.08%, trading at 24,175 around 9:25 am.
Among the Sensex stocks, Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, UltraTech Cement, and Reliance Industries were the top laggards, while M&M, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tech Mahindra, and HCL Tech opened with gains.
Meanwhile, Adani Group stocks opened up to 4% higher in early trade. Adani Energy Solutions surged nearly 4%, while Adani Enterprises, Adani Green Energy, Adani Power, and Adani Total Gas gained 2-3%. ACC, Ambuja Cement, and Adani Wilmar also saw gains of up to 1%.
However, Adani Group stocks may face pressure during today's trade as troubles deepened on Tuesday, with two more credit rating agencies downgrading their outlook and Sri Lanka reviewing any potential fallout from the group's projects in the country.
