Sensex rises 250 points, Nifty tops 22,500 on upbeat global market cues

The BSE Sensex was trading 249 points or 0.34% higher at 74,127. Nifty50 was trading at 22,539, up 63 points or 0.28% at around 9.17 am.

The Labor Department's employment report showed the U.S. economy added fewer jobs than expected, while the unemployment rate ticked higher and wage growth unexpectedly cooled.
