The film is considered to have influenced hit movies such as 'Star Wars', The 'Hateful Eight' and 'John Wick' among others. Storyline

The film is set in the Sengoku period of Japanese history which witnessed many civil wars and social strife. It was the period between the 15th and 16th century. This was when Europe was going through ‘dark ages’.
