The NSE Nifty index ended the session 51.0 points up at 23567.0, while BSE Sensex rose 141.34 points to 77478.93.
In the Nifty index, Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.13 per cent), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 2.12 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.70 per cent), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.61 per cent) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 1.45 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
