The NSE Nifty index ended the session 418.9 points up at 20686.8, while BSE Sensex rose 1383.93 points to 68865.12.
In the Nifty index, Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 7.43 per cent), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 7.13 per cent), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 6.14 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 5.37 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 4.70 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.06 per cent), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.66 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.05 per cent), Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.03 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.01 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
