The NSE Nifty index traded 274.71 points down at 21757.6, while BSE Sensex was down 1051.11 points at 72077.66 as of 10:45AM(IST)on January 17.
In the Nifty index, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.92 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.54 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 6.31 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 2.67 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 2.30 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 2.20 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.13 per cent) were among the top losers.
