Sheikh Hasina has landed at Hindon Air Base in a C-130 transport aircraft, reported news agency ANI. The move of Hasina comes as the airport remains under protection with fewer flights operating from the base.
The aircraft will be parked near the Indian Air Force’s C-17 and C-130J Super Hercules aircraft hangars. The aircraft movement was monitored by Indian Air Force and security agencies from its entry into Indian airspace to Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad, reported ANI quoting its sources.
Hindon Airport is a Civil Enclave in Ghaziabad Distt. of Uttar Pradesh, operated by the Airports Authority of India at Hindan Air Force Station. It is the second commercial airport in the Delhi NCR which is around 24km from New Delhi Railway Station connected by Major Mohit Sharma Rajender Nagar Metro Station of Ghaziabad, after Indira Gandhi International Airport,Delhi. This airport built to handle domestic flights operating under the Government's Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) operated by Airports authority of India.
This Civil Enclave, Hindon is built in 22050 sqm land area near Sikandarpur village in Sahibabad, adjacent to the IAF airbase. The terminal building is a pre-engineered, air-conditioned structure with eight check-in counters and two conveyor belt. The terminal building has a capacity of serving 300 PAX in an hour. Air traffic control is being provided by the Indian Air Force. The C.E.Hindon has been developed and managed by AAI also cater to the need of VIP and Non-scheduled flight movement..
