Silicon Valley startup accelerator Y Combinator's longtime group partner Michael Seibel departs
Michael Seibel, a longtime group partner at startup accelerator Y Combinator, has transitioned to a "partner emeritus" role after more than 12 years.
He confirmed the news on X.
Seibel, a political science graduate and entrepreneur behind Justin.tv and Socialcam, has worked closely with many Y Combinator (YC) startups.
According to YC, the companies he has advised are now worth a combined $192 billion. Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan announced the news separately in a company blog post, emphasising Michael Seibel's deep-rooted connection with the organisation.

Over the course of 21 YC batches, he has conducted 6,500 office hours, advising more than 1,745 companies.
«Michael's impact at YC has been massive. He's been instrumental in shaping our programme, our culture, and our values. I know I've learned a ton from him,» Tan said.
