Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday responded to US President Donald Trump’s threat to cut off aid over the alleged mistreatment of White farmers, denying the claim that authorities were “confiscating land.”

“South Africa is a constitutional democracy that is deeply rooted in the rule of law, justice and equality. The South African government has not confiscated any land,” Ramaphosa wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Ramaphosa mentioned that they look forward to working with the Trump administration on land reform policy and other issues of mutual interest.
He also noted that while the US is an important political and trade partner, it doesn’t provide significant funding to South Africa, except for a major HIV/AIDS relief program.
