Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(up 11.75%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 4.93%), Coromandel International Ltd.(up 3.23%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(up 2.35%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 1.83%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.73%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(up 1.66%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.57%), Sikko Industries Ltd.(up 1.48%) and Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(up 1.40%) stood among the top gainers.

Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 2.49%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 0.74%), Agro Phos India Ltd.(down 0.73%) and Rama Phosphates Ltd.(down 0.70%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 250.5 points up at 24367.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 819.69 points at 79705.91.
Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 5.55%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 3.06%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 3.0%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.75%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 2.53%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.47%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.07%), State Bank of India(up 2.02%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.98%) and Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 1.74%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.45%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.12%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.18%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.11%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.1%) and Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.08%) closed in the red.
