Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd.(up 4.87%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(up 4.60%), Gillette India Ltd.(up 1.00%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.68%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(up 0.41%), Dabur India Ltd.(up 0.13%) and Marico Ltd.(up 0.02%) stood among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(down 5.91%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(down 5.38%), Future Consumer Ltd.(down 5.27%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(down 4.72%), Heritage Foods Ltd.(down 4.02%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(down 3.89%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(down 3.39%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 3.16%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd.(down 2.85%) and Patanjali Foods Ltd.(down 2.77%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 247.2 points down at 21951.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 790.34 points at 72304.88.
Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.68%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.46%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.36%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.12%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 4.43%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 3.91%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 3.48%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 3.25%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 3.03%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.94%), Wipro Ltd.(down 2.59%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.53%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 2.52%) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.51%) closed in the red.
