Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market rises
Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 5.83%), Future Consumer Ltd.(up 5.56%), Emami Ltd.(up 4.18%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 2.50%), Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(up 1.88%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(up 1.75%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(up 1.48%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd.(up 1.27%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd.(up 1.26%) and Jyothy Labs Ltd.(up 1.21%) stood among the top gainers.
Umang Dairies Ltd.(down 2.87%), ADF Foods Ltd.(down 2.83%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(down 2.03%), Hatsun Agro Products Ltd.(down 2.02%), Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd.(down 2.02%), Gillette India Ltd.(down 1.48%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.31%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(down 1.24%), Dodla Dairy Ltd.(down 1.17%) and LT Foods Ltd.(down 1.03%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 167.95 points up at 22570.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 486.5 points at 74339.44.
Axis Bank Ltd.(up 6.0%), State Bank of India(up 5.13%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.51%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.62%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 2.5%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 2.39%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 2.36%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 2.32%), NTPC Ltd.(up 2.15%) and ITC Ltd.(up 2.02%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
