Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

Future Consumer(up 6.25%), Bikaji Foods International(up 4.13%), Patanjali Foods(up 3.29%), Dodla Dairy(up 2.09%), Emami(up 1.97%), Parag Milk(up 1.96%), Jyothy Labs(up 1.96%), Bajaj Consumer(up 1.96%), Britannia Industries(up 1.85%) and Nestle India(up 1.21%) stood among the top gainers.
Sheetal Cool Products(down 13.45%), Prataap Snacks(down 3.05%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 1.91%), Adani Wilmar(down 1.70%), Vadilal Industries(down 0.75%), Varun Beverages(down 0.65%), Heritage Foods(down 0.59%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.47%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.25%) and ADF Foods(down 0.24%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 181.15 points up at 19411.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 594.91 points at 64958.69.
Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.65%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 2.5%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 2.41%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 2.2%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 2.07%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 2.03%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.85%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.85%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 1.83%) and Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.79%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, State Bank of India(down 0.65%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.47%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.22%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.22%), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.18%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.04%) closed in the red.
