Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

KIOCL(up 4.99%), Pokarna(up 2.41%), NMDC Ltd(up 2.31%), Ashapura Minechem(up 2.22%), Oriental Trimex(up 1.48%), Lexus Granito(up 0.85%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.81%), Aro Granite Industries(up 0.41%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.39%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.32%) were among the top gainers.
MOIL(down 1.14%) and Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores(down 1.08%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 17.8 points down at 19393.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 112.33 points at 64846.36 at around 11:10AM.

Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.8%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.43%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.17%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.06%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.01%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.71%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.69%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.61%) and Cipla Ltd.(up 0.52%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.89%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.63%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 0.62%), ITC Ltd.(down 0.5%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 0.49%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 0.48%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.48%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 0.42%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.42%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 0.4%) were trading in the red.
