Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.78% in an upbeat market
Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 2.89 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 2.53 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 2.32 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 1.39 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.78 per cent at 16492.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 186.35 points at 19629.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 593.63 points at 65527.5.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 43 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea, JP Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bang Overseas, Gabriel India, Sreeleather, Ethos Ltd. and EMS L hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rajesh Exports, Compuage Infocom, Atam Valves, Winsome Yarns and Mask Investments hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
