Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.31%
Shares of Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.55 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 1.25 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.95 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.82 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.71 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.31 per cent up at 43820.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 30.05 points at 19425.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 72.48 points at 64904.68.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, YES Bank, Reliance Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of CarTrade Tech, Kothari Petro, Sharda Motor, Antony Waste Handlin and Venus Remedies hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while M K Proteins, Hindcon Chemicals, Compuage Infocom, AKG Exim Ltd. and Blue Jet Healthcare hit their fresh 52-week lows.
