Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.43% in an upbeat market
Punjab National Bank(up 1.27 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.93 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.92 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.88 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.6 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.43 per cent at 47643.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 178.6 points at 21825.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 563.21 points at 72284.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Infibeam Avenues, Easy Trip Planners and Trident Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
