Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.15% in an upbeat market
Coforge Ltd.(up 2.14 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.28 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.15 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.08 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.85 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Infosys Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.2 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.04 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.15 per cent at 34886.65 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 38.75 points at 21657.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 100.52 points at 71758.23.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Easy Trip Planners, Indian Railway Fin, RattanIndia Power and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
