Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.28% in a weak market
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.87 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.1 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Coforge Ltd.(down 1.75 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 1.42 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.14 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.28 per cent at 34921.2 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 164.0 points at 22355.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 557.36 points at 73687.54.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, SAIL and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Senco Gold, Aarvi Encon, Selan Expl Tech, Aster DM Health and Global Vectra hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Infomedia Press, MEP Infrastructure, Penta Gold, Best Agrolife and Future Supply Chain hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
