Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.58% in an upbeat market

Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.52 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(up 0.45 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Infosys Ltd.(down 1.48 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.43 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.14 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.58 per cent at 32617.7 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 119.35 points at 22608.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 428.14 points at 74313.74.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, GMR Infra, YES Bank and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bharat Rasayan, J Kumar Infra, Excel Realty N Infra, E2E Networks and Creative Eye hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while N K Industries, Revathi Equipment, Tarmat Ltd, Awfis Space Solution and Radaan Media hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
