Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls
Orient Green Power Company(up 4.32%), ADANIGREEN(up 4.10%), Adani Power(up 3.02%), Adani Transmissions(up 3.01%), JSW Energy(up 1.66%), NLC India(up 1.52%), PTC India(up 0.73%), KPI Green Energy(up 0.49%), Suzlon Energy(up 0.25%) and Kalpataru Projects International(up 0.14%) were among the top gainers. Karma Energy(down 4.12%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 3.08%), Indowind Energy(down 2.92%), Alstom T&D India(down 2.18%), GE Power India Limited(down 2.08%), Inox wind(down 2.03%), Inox Wind Energy(down 1.46%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.37%), KEC International(down 0.94%) and Indo Tech Transformers(down 0.83%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 100.4 points down at 19264.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 313.9 points at 64837.12 at around 10:09AM. Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.98%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.5%), Cipla(up 0.46%), Axis Bank(up 0.36%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.36%), Eicher Motors(up 0.25%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.2%), Tata Motors(up 0.15%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 0.08%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
