Stock market update: Power stocks up as market falls
Alstom T&D India(up 4.99%), Karma Energy(up 3.53%), RTNPOWER(up 2.13%), Adani Power(up 1.68%), Orient Green Power Company(up 1.67%), PTC India(up 1.36%), NHPC(up 1.21%), Reliance Power(up 1.19%), Energy Development Company(up 0.91%) and Indowind Energy(up 0.74%) were among the top gainers. Indo Tech Transformers(down 4.99%), JSW Energy(down 3.02%), Suzlon Energy(down 2.22%), Inox wind(down 1.49%), SJVN(down 1.13%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.03%), GE Power India Limited(down 0.94%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 0.89%), Voltamp Transformers(down 0.85%) and ADANIGREEN(down 0.79%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 56.95 points down at 19408.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 182.19 points at 65357.23 at around 11:00AM. Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.78%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.41%), Axis Bank(up 0.77%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.48%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.44%), State Bank of India(up 0.41%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.34%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.12%), Britannia Industries(up 0.12%) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
