Stock market update: Stocks that hit 52-week highs on NSE in today's trade
Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 27.05 points down at 22529.05 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks such as Revathi Equip, Megastar Foods, Tasty Bite Eatable, Morarjee Text and Sintex Plastics Tech, touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 26 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 24 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Hindalco, Coal India Ltd, Tata Steel, JSW Steel and Adani Ports SEZ were among top gainers during the day, while Nestle India, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki, ICICI Bank and TCS ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 52.63 points down at 73953.31.
Traders piled up positions in Metals — Non Ferrous, Rubber, Defence, Shipping and Mining sectors, while selling was witnessed in Irrigation & Allied Services, Learning & Education, Tea / Coffee, Industrial Equipment and Cables sectors during the day.
