Stock market update: Stocks that hit 52-week highs on NSE in today's trade
Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 662.11 points down at 24055.6 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks such as SEL Manufacturing Co, Valiant Laboratories, Spandana Sphoorty, Vraj Iron & Steel and Brightcom Group, touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 3 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 47 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, HUL, Nestle India, HDFC Life, Apollo Hospital and Britannia were among top gainers during the day, while Tata Motors, ONGC, Adani Ports SEZ, Tata Steel and Hindalco ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 2222.55 points down at 78759.4.
Traders piled up positions in Building Materials, Learning & Education, Services, Tea / Coffee and Telecommunications sectors, while selling was witnessed in Irrigation & Allied Services, Infrastructure, Electric/Electronics, Term Lending Institutions and Defence sectors during the day.
