The NSE Nifty50 index ended 17.35 points down at 19794.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 64.66 points at 66408.39.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.79%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.77%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.62%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.21%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.13%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.09%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.83%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.79%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 0.76%) and Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 0.71%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.66%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.94%), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.93%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.86%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.75%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.71%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.19%), UPL Ltd.(down 1.13%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.08%) and Wipro Ltd.(down 0.96%) closed in the red.
