Stockport Pride 2023 will be organized Sunday, July 30 to celebrate the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. It will have colorful programs, a gay parade, performances by gay artists, and many more events to emphasize the significance of the third gender.
Gay Parade TimeThe gay pride parade will be held from 12 pm to 6 pm local time. Besides the main gay pride parade, many on-stage performances will be held. Gay artists will show their talent on themes ranging from gay rights to the life of the LGBTQ community. There will be a silent disco, and a drag party, and a mobile cocktail van. The organizers of the Stockport Pride have said that they have aimed to present an all-inclusive family-friendly program rather than one focused on gay pride. Talking to journalists, Lead organizer Stephen Bowyer said that the occasion is a celebration of love as well as an opportunity to stand united against all types of prejudice. He also said that the event aims to celebrate diversity and help create a more inclusive society.
Gay Pride ParadeThe Gay Pride Parade will be the main attraction of the event and it will begin at noon from the Undebanks. The parade will pass through Merseyway, and Bridgefeild Street, and end at Market Place.
Martyn Hett StageMany iconic performers of Greater Manchester will perform at the Martyn Hett Stage in the evening. Channel 4’s Naked Beach host and BBC Radio host Jsky will perform his top-selling numbers. Confirming this he said that he is excited for Sunday as he is a great supporter of local gay rights.
Drag performanceLocal musician Queen Bayard, and Val the Brown Queen will deliver the drag performance in the evening. Brown Queen calls herself “Bollywood Bombshell in a Burkha”.
