‘Stree 2’ releases date announced; Shraddha Kapoor’s horror comedy to clash with ‘Pushpa 2’
Independence Day! ‘Stree 2’, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 blockbuster comedy-horror ‘Stree’ is eyeing a pan-Indian release on August 15.
Maddock Entertainment, the producers of the Shraddha Kapoor- Rajkummar Rao-starrer, took to social media handles and wrote, “Iss swatantrata diwas, aa rahi hai #Stree fir se!” (#Stree2 in cinemas this Independence Day, 15th August 2024. ). The post went viral on Instagram, gaining more than 300K likes.
Earlier, a teaser of the sequel was released along with ‘Munjya’, the latest supernatural comedy from Maddock Entertainment at the theatres.
Netizens got excited over the news of ‘Stree’s return to the big screen and flooded the comment section. “O Stree, jaldi aana!” wrote a fan. “O Stree… Jaldi aaiye… Deewana Bana dijiye” gushed another.
‘Stree 2’ Gears Up For Epic Box Office Battle!
'Stree 2' is set to compete at the box office with Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'. Earlier this year, the creators of 'Pushpa 2' released a teaser on Allu Arjun’s birthday, thrilling fans. In the teaser, the Telugu star is seen in a saree with his face painted blue and red, adorned with traditional gold and flower jewelry, and fighting off goons. The filming of 'Pushpa 2' is ongoing. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' is scheduled to hit theaters on Independence Day this year.
