Rocksteady Games, the original developer of Batman: Arkham Asylum, is set to explore the darker side of the DC universe with their upcoming release, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
The official release date for the game is February 2, 2024. Originally slated for a May 2023 launch, Rocksteady Games pushed back the release following a substantial negative response to the initial trailer.
Available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League's compatibility with older consoles like PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch is yet to be confirmed.
Described as an open-world action-adventure shooter, the game accommodates up to four players, with the option for solo play allowing switching between characters. Tasked by Amanda Waller to investigate the notorious comic-book villain Brainiac, the Suicide Squad faces a formidable opponent in Superman, who has fallen under mind control.
The playable characters include Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark and Captain Boomerang, each likely possessing unique gameplay abilities. However, contrary to live-service models like Marvel’s Avengers, the game does not plan to expand its character roster in the future.
Despite launching around the same time as WB Montreal's Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is unrelated to the Batfamily title. It exists in a distinct universe but remains a continuation of the Batman Arkham series, leaving room for potential appearances by villains and cameos from previous Arkham games,
