Instamart delivery man was caught on camera stealing a pair of shoes from outside a flat in Gurugram. The incident, which occurred on April 9, gained widespread attention after a user named Rohit Arora shared CCTV footage of the theft on social media platform X.
According to Arora's account, the delivery man, after completing a delivery, returned to the location and discreetly took the Nike shoes that were placed outside the flat. The video, now viral, shows the delivery executive carefully checking his surroundings before committing the act, highlighting a breach of trust in Swiggy's delivery services.
Upon discovering the incident, Swiggy issued a statement expressing disappointment in their delivery partner's behaviour. In a response shared on social media, the company stated, «We expect better from our delivery partners,» indicating their stance on maintaining integrity and professionalism among their workforce.
The incident sparked reactions from internet users, with many demanding accountability and swift action from Swiggy. One user commented, «At least own up to the event and refund him the cost of his Nike shoes. They are not cheap, and losing them in this way is not ideal.»
Rohit Arora's experience with Swiggy's customer care further highlighted concerns about responsiveness. Despite raising a complaint with Swiggy Cares, Arora reported a lack of resolution, indicating potential gaps in addressing customer grievances effectively.
