Tamil Nadu went to polls in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, to elect 39 members to the 18th Lok Sabha, with voting taking place on April 19.
In the state, the BJP is looking to make inroads into what has predominantly been a Dravidian stronghold, with the INDIA bloc-allied DMK, currently in power in the state, looking to keep the saffron party out of the state.
In a post on X, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin said, «Our INDIA bloc, formed to defeat the ten-year fascist regime of the BJP and save India, has met the expectations of the people and stands on the cusp of victory. It has rallied a formidable coalition of democratic forces against the BJP, who thought there was nobody to challenge them. This alliance now offers hope to all Indians in the electoral arena.»
