While Ted 3 was not fully on the cards, Peacock handed over an order to the franchise for a Ted prequel series, which was formally announced in 2021. As usual the series will follow its main character — Ted, but here viewers will get a deeper insight about the early years of John and Ted's adventure.

The Ted prequel series will have seven episodes that will debut on Peacock on January 11, 2024.

The makers have not yet released the full official trailer of the Ted series but a 30 second teaser was released on November 16, 2023. The teaser showed the stuffed bear of 1993 writing a letter to Ted of the present day.

The movie is directed by Seth MacFarlane and will feature actors Seth MacFarlane, Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes and Giorgia Whigham.

In 2012, Seth MacFarlane introduced a very special stuffed toy — a bear --to audiences who can walk, talk and a life full of adventure. This cute, stuffed toy was called Ted. In the First series, Ted follows a man named John Bennett, who as a child wished his giant stuffed teddy bear to come to life and now as an adult lives with the teddy bear named Ted.

Both John and Ted grew up as best friends, John's girlfriend Lori is not happy with the duo.

Here John has to decide whether he would continue his friendship with the giant teddy or maintain his relationship with Lori.

Earlier Ted 2 was released in 2015. The series shows John and Lori are no more together. Meanwhile Ted, the talking bear is having romantic troubles with his wife — Tami-Lynn.
