Netflix has started the production of ‘The Abandons’ in Calgary, Canada. This action movie is the idea of Kurt Sutter who is also the creative mind behind the movie ‘Sons of Anarchy’. In information that has been revealed, Lena Headley, Gillian Anderson and Nick Robinson will be some of the leading characters in the movie.
Filming in Canada
Though the movie is being shot in Calgary, Canada, it is based out of Oregon in the US. It is set in the 1850s and the movie is based on morality and survival.
Storyline
According to 'Collider', the story is all about a diverse group of families who are surviving and fighting back against a corrupt force that is trying to steal and usurp their land.
Headey plays the character of Fiona Nolan who is a powerful matriarch and goes to all lengths to protect her family of four orphans who she has adopted. In this process, she is up and against Constance Van Ness, played by Gillian Anderson, who is keen to protect her family and expand her frontiers. Her family is seeking to expand their mining fortunes.
It is this conflict that leads to unify different tribes. These different tribes will have to unite to fight against the influence of money power and muscle power. They are a big family in this regard. Justice is stretched beyond the boundaries of law and the legal systems.
