AMC's psychological thriller scene has always been on a high and 'Dark Winds' was a notch on their belt as the franchise adapts Tony Hillerman's Leaphorn & Chee novels that revolve around the Navajo County tribal police's adventures.

'Dark Winds' first kicked in in June 2022, with the first season containing six episodes. After the first season was loved by viewers, it was again renewed for a second season that premiered on July 30, 2023, for another six episodes. Right after the second season hit the screens, it was announced that this epic franchise will be again coming back for a third run and this time it is going to be bigger than the first two chapters.

Storyline: Dark Winds Season 3

The series revolves around two Navajo Tribal Police officers, namely, Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee, in the 1970s-era Four Corners area of the US Southwest. According to reports, the first season is loosely based on 'Listening Woman', a crime novel that was released back in 1978, while the second season adapts yet another crime novel, 'People of Darkness', written by the same Tony Hillerman, who wrote 'Listening Woman'.
