Timberlake reacted as a fan reached out to touch his jacket. He slapped the fan’s hand away hard, visibly angry, as security stepped in to help.
Fans had different points of view about the incident. A fan made a hilarious comparison between Timberlake's response and what would happen if a strict grandma caught him stealing too many cookies. Another person criticized the performer, saying that if famous people don't want to be touched, they should avoid the crowd. Bringing up the fact that Timberlake decided to approach the crowd, a third fan questioned his anger. Some supporters of Timberlake, however, backed him, saying it was improper for someone to try to touch him without consent.
