Guy Ritchie's upcoming series, «Young Sherlock,» has added Joseph Fiennes and Natascha McElhone to its cast as Sherlock Holmes's parents, Silas and Cordelia.
Joseph Fiennes takes on the role of Sherlock's father, Silas, a scientist, explorer, and businessman. Natascha McElhone plays Cordelia, described as a devoted mother, artist, and matriarch of the Holmes family. This casting reunites Fiennes with his real-life nephew Hero Fiennes Tiffin, who plays the young Sherlock.
«Young Sherlock,» inspired by Andy Lane's book series, follows the 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes as he faces a murder mystery at Oxford University, testing his raw genius and unraveling a globe-trotting conspiracy. Guy Ritchie directs and executive produces the eight-episode series, set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video.

Simon Kelton, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Maxwell, Dhana Gilbert, Colin Wilson, Marc Resteghini, and Harriet Creelman are executive producers. Kelton originally conceived the project, partnered with Atkinson, and joined forces with Motive Pictures, Gilbert, and Resteghini to bring the series to Amazon MGM Studios.
Fiennes is also involved in the BBC's drama about Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and leads the TV adaptation of the stage play «Dear England,» portraying England soccer
