Who is Gerry Turner?Gerry Turner is a 71-year-old widower from Indiana, who is a retired restaurateur. Turner is the lead of ABC’s The Golden Bachelor, a spin-off series of The Bachelor. The dating reality show for seniors is touted as a love story «for the golden years». Turner was married for 43 years to his high-school sweetheart, Toni, who passed away in 2017. Turner has two daughters and also has two granddaughters. On The Golden Bachelor, Gerry will be looking for love again among women 65 years or older. “It’s never too late to fall in love…again,” he says. The format of The Golden Bachelor will be the same as The Bachelor show, except that it is for seniors. ABC first made a casting call for senior citizens for The Golden Bachelor in 2020, but the series was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
