Inflows into equity mutual funds surged by 83% to Rs 34,697 crore in May from Rs 18,917 crore in April. Around 9 equity mutual fund categories received higher inflows in May, according to the monthly data released by AMFI. There were around 11 equity mutual fund categories.

Sectoral and thematic funds have received the highest inflows of around Rs 19,213.43 crore in May against an inflow of Rs 5,166.05 crore in April. The inflows went up by 272% on a month on month basis.
Flexi cap funds
The flexi cap funds received inflows of Rs 3,155.07 crore in May. The category received inflows of Rs 2,172.93 crore in April.
Small cap funds
The small cap funds received total inflows of Rs 2,724.67 crore in May against an inflow of Rs 2,208.70 crore in April. The total assets under management of the category stands at Rs 2.70 lakh crore as on May 2024.
Multi cap funds
The multi cap funds received total inflows of Rs 2,644.88 crore in May against an inflow of Rs 2,723.87 crore in April. The net assets under management for the category stood at Rs 1.39 lakh crore as on May 31, 2024.
Mid cap funds
The mid cap funds received total inflows of Rs 2,605.70 crore
