

These PNB bank account holders won’t be able to operate savings accounts if they don’t do this soon
Punjab National Bank (PNB) has urged select account holders to update their «Know Your Customer» (KYC) information, in accordance with RBI norms. It asked them to complete the KYC before the specified date to ensure seamless account operations.
Who needs to update KYC for PNB accounts?
This is applicable only for those PNB customers whose accounts were due for KYC updation as of December 31, 2024.

What is eKYC?
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) website, “Digital KYC” is done by capturing live photo of the customer and officially valid document or the proof of possession of Aadhaar, where offline verification cannot be carried out, along with the latitude and longitude of the location where such live photo is being taken by an authorised officer of the Regulated Entities (RE).”
Here the ‘Regulated Entities’ are those that are regulated by the RBI.
