Even as model code has slowed down the government’s usual pace, bureaucracy is on its toes. Sectoral groups of secretaries are holding a series of meetings to firm up 100-day plans and long-term agenda for the new government. In addition, review meetings are being called by the Cabinet Secretary. The latter are learnt to be quite demanding. Word has it that quite a few proposals have been sent back to the drawing board as well.
Choubey giving his best shot
Union minister Ashwini Choubey, who has been denied a ticket from Bihar’s Buxar, hasn’t lost hope. He has been telling his supporters that things can change before nomination. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Gaya, Choubey sat beside him and presented his case. He has also visited RSS office in Nagpur.
