Congress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde recently claimed that the late Congressman Vilasrao Deshmukh once tried to dethrone the then CM Sharad Pawar. Shinde, the then Maharashtra Congress chief, claimed that Deshmukh surreptitiously made him sign a document, calling for Pawar's removal as the CM. With Pawar on the stage, Shinde claimed that Pawar could not believe 'till the end' how a 'smart' person like him could get trapped in such a way. Congress leaders are perplexed at Shinde's claim and that too when Deshmukh is no more to counter it.
